A blue arced scroll 3 11/16 inches (9.37 cm) in length and 1 3/4 inches (4.45 cm) in width overall inscribed in two lines JOINT SECURITY AREA PANMUNJOM in white letters 5/16 (.79 cm) in height; all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally approved for the Joint Security Area, United Nations Command Support Group on 25 July 1986. It was redesignated for the United Nations Command Security Battalion-Joint Security Area and amended to update the description on 25 November 2015. (TIOH Dwg. No. A-1-725)

A silver color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 (3.02 cm) in height consisting of an oriental blue square one point up bearing a stylized globe encircled by a wreath (based on the United Nations emblem) between the inscription PANMUNJOM and JSA below, all silver.
